New advertising network WidgetBucks has just updated publishers accounts with their earnings figures from the previous month of earnings.
This includes three amounts. A $25 signup bonus, the earnings that their Widgets earned for October plus earnings from their referrals (10% of the earnings of those that they referred).

While it’s only been about 6 weeks since WidgetBucks launched I’d be interested to hear the thoughts of those who’ve been trying them now that they’ve got their first month’s totals.
My own feelings have not really changed since I first came across them.
I think that the system has a lot of potential
It’s early days and there’s lots of room for improvement from WB to make the service really great
My own earnings have been very encouraging (WB is outperforming both AdSense and Chitika on a couple of blogs for me - although is doing less on others - I find that product related blogs is where it really shines). I don’t think that I’m allowed to reveal earnings - but lets just say that they are four figures per month - and that I’ve only been using them sparingly so far).
Interestingly - the amount that I earned from referrals fees over the month of October was considerably less than I’d expected. In fact if that figure is 10% of the amount that those I’ve referred are earning I’m earning more than all of them put together (and I’ve referred hundreds of bloggers). Obviously not everyone who signed up is using WB and not everyone is getting the great results I have so far.
I have noticed a decrease in click values in the last week or two. I’m presuming that WB are tweaking the back end to get the balance right between publishers and advertisers right. I hope it doesn’t decrease too much further though as it’ll bring it back to a par with other networks for me in terms of profitability
I’ve noticed some improvements in the loading speed of Widgets. Its still not super fast but a lot better than it was for me
They are my initial reports - I’d be interested to hear what others are finding.

I have already shared few of them previously and will share more soon !
I'm using their merge sense crawler which automatically optimizes their ads based on containts of our website.
Following ad format seem to be suiting best.

If you don’t know already, Widget Bucks is pay-per-click advertising network allowing you and other bloggers (or any other sort of webmaster) to earn money by displaying their shopping widgets on your site. Every widget instantly displays the most popular products based on buying trends of 100 million shoppers. They claim that their widgets are getting $3 - $6 CPM, what’s pretty good when comparing to other ad networks.
You might say that every ad network would probably tell similar, positive, things about its performance just to attract more publishers. And only thing you might do to check these allegations would be to take some time to test their system on your own. Well, in case of Widget Bucks, you don’t have to do that because I have already done it and conclusion is the same:
Widget Bucks Widget, displayed on this blog, in last month made 2 times more money than all Google AdSense ad units you can see here.

What gives more power to above statement, is the fact that I use only one widget comparing to three Google AdSense ad units, and further, widget’s inferior position (bottom widget of the sidebar). Even worst, you’ll get $25 worth signup bonus, immediately after you register. Hell man, if all this doesn’t sounds like worth of trying then I don’t know what does!
So, don’t waste any more of your time. All you have to do is to visit their website, register and you are ready to go. Customize your widget, place it in your blog (or website) and just watch the money coming into your account. You can thank me later.

It's a great way for others to monetize and make money from their website and Blogs. Over the course of time many other programs have rivaled Google but the newest one on the market is widget bucks.
Widget bucks works very similar to Google but with some major differences. Widget bucks will currently only work on a blog like wordpress, blogger and typepad. This may change in the near future but for now that's the way it is. Adsense shows relevant ads in text based format or graphic format depending on what the publisher chooses. With Widget Bucks they only have graphic ads but it's a little more then that. Think of Widget bucks as a widget that shows current pricing of items as well as pictures and then rotates it through into the next add.
Widget bucks let you choose what type of products to show on your blog. After all no one knows better then you what your readers like. You have many different add layout to choose from and can customize the look to some extent to match your site.
With widget Bucks being new no one has gotten a check yet. I can't say no one but it just opened up and it takes 45 days from the end of the month till you get paid. So the first checks should start rolling out in mid December.
So will this new adsense competitor be able to hang with the big boys?
Only time will tell. Of all the programs out there competing with adsense, widget bucks has a good chance because it's more of a niche that was missing in the market. The Widget is not for every blog out there. If your blog is not product based you may be better off with adsense. If however you have a blog about wifi or about electronics I bet Widget Bucks would make an impression on your readers.
Another thing to mention is widget bucks currently offers a 25.00 sign up bonus. While this should not heavily influence your decision it's a little icing on the cake. You do have to make at least $50.00 before you can be paid out so that 25.00 get's you half way on your way. Adsense minimum payout is 100.00 so smaller bloggers may find this to be a better route to go.
To read more check out the widget bucks website here. If your looking for the best ways to use widget bucks check out Widget Bucks reviews. This is a great place to learn more about this program and discuss it's use on your blog.

In general, there isn't any best size or format in WidgetBucks. What may be the best format for one, may not be the best format for you. But here's one general conception that I heard from many webmasters, don't over blend your ads.
General rule of thumb:
1. For blog, experiment by placing 330 x 250 ads on your post.
2. If you have the space, try the 660 x 300 ads blog. It displays product description, price and picture all in one ad block. No one will miss that huge ad blocks either.
3. Experiment with color. Just because your site is red doesn't mean that red WidgetBucks ads will do well too.
4. Match the ads category with your topic (duh).
5. Don't place too many widgets in one page. Three WidgetBucks ads are already too much (three will take forever to load). Generally I have never placed more than one WidgetBucks ads.

According to WidgetBucks FAQ, they allow publishers to display their advertisement along with Google Adsense. But I am not utterly confident about this and decided to shoot an email to Adsense support.
Here's the reply from the support team:
Thanks for your email.
AdSense publishers may display ads from other contextual ad networks on the same page as Google ads only if the formatting or color scheme of these ads is sufficiently different from the layout of the Google ads.
In other words, if you choose to place non-Google ads on the same site or page as Google ads, it should always be clear to the user that the ads are served by different advertising networks and that the non-Google ads have no association with Google. If the formats are naturally similar, we'd ask that you use different color schemes for the competing ads.
Look at the sentence that I bold there. The point is, you are allowed to place WidgetBucks (or any other ads) along with Adsense as long as their appearances are different.
Take a look at this typical WidgetBucks ads:

Now take a look at this Adsense Ads:

They look completely different :). So go ahead and put WidgetBucks ads along with your Adsense, it's completely okay.

Many webmasters have difficulty in deciding what format would fit well with their site. Since WidgetBucks is not providing any samples, we have to load the ads one by one in order to find out their appearances and design. This can be annoying since literaly you have to load the whole flash file everytime you switch color or format.
Here are WidgetBucks sample ads images in every available format that I captured from the screen. You can get a feel of these ads format and decide whether any of these ads format will do well in your site. (click the thumbnail to view the ads in its original size).

120 x 600 Ads

160 x 600 ads
160 x 300 ads

300 x 250 ads

468 x 60 ads

728 x 90 ads

660 x 300 ads

Due to our feedback about slow loading of a widget, widgetbucks has improved the code. It now loads much faster than previous code.
It shows that widgetbucks takes care of our comments.
Steps to follow for updating:
1. Sign-in to
http://widgetbucks.com and go to My Widgets
2. For each active widget, simply edit and re-copy the code block into your site or blog (the same steps you went through when you created the widgets originally)

WidgetBucks, the fastest growing ad network on the Internet, has just completed its first month -- and the numbers continue to exceed our expectations. Since launching Oct. 2 (a 30-day period), WidgetBucks has signed up a total of 30,000 publishers, bloggers and affiliates and registered over 200 million ad impressions. The total publisher and impression figures are nearly twice our SIX-month projections.

For those who are not familier with widgetbucks hare is a short introdution:
WidgetBucks is backed by Mpire, a company founded in 2005 that runs a pretty decent online shopping site of the same name. Their new venture allows webmasters monetize websites by installing widgets. A sample of one as below and is relatively simple to install.(See the sample.)
WidgetBucks - Trend Watch - WidgetBucks.com

The interesting thing with WidgetBucks is that its PPC rather than PPA, and whats more interesting is that at the moment its paying around 0.2 to 0.5USD per click - Higher than Adsense for most niches.
Whats more, they are giving USD25 dollars to webmasters that join now (
Click Here if you can wait no longer).
After a bit of testing you can easily get RPC between 0.5$ -1 $ which is much larger than given by other advertising networks !
Whats more, U can get RPC more than 2$ by following tips given on this blog.
So isn't it all too good to start replacing our adsense codes?
